Gradience Pro / Enterprise - Install Old Version on New Client Workstation

Install Older Version of Gradience on a New Client Computer 

OPTION ONE - When you already have the software on at least one other client workstation.

1. At a working client go to C:\Programdata\Gradience. The Programdata folder may be hidden.

2. Copy the Hrware.ini file.

3. Paste the copied file to a network folder or an external hard drive (USB device).

4. At the new client workstation, go to C:\Programdata. The Programdata may be hidden.

5. Create a folder named Gradience and paste the copied Hrware.ini file into this new folder.

6. Run your old CD or click on the old installation file.

7. Click Run > Next. Accept the license agreement and click Next.

8. Select Client when prompted and click Next all the way through until you click Finish.

9. Click the new shortcut to open the software.

OPTION TWO - When you do not have the software on at least one other client workstation.

1. At the computer where the database resides, go to C:\Programdata\Gradience. Programdata may be hidden.

2. Copy the Hrware.ini file.

3. Paste the copied file to a network folder or an external hard drive (USB device).

4. At the new client workstation, go to C:\Programdata. The Programdata may be hidden.

5. Create a folder there named Gradience and paste the copied Hrware.ini file into this new folder.

6. Open the newly pasted Hrware.ini file.

7. Change SERVER= from Localhost to the name or IP Address of the computer where the database is.

8. Click File > Save and then close out of the Hrware.ini file and return to the desktop.

9. Run your old CD or click on the old installation file.

10. Click Run > Next. Accept the license agreement and click Next.

11. Select Client when prompted and click Next all the way through until you click Finish.

12. When the next popup appears, DO NOT click the Test Connection button! The test will fail because the mechanism that connects the software to the data has not installed yet. Just click Next.

13. Follow the remaining  prompts until you click Finish.

14. Click the new shortcut to open the software.
