Gradience Basics - Crystal Reports Runtime Error when Running Reports

Crystal Reports Runtime error when attempting to run reports in Gradience Basics

Getting errors when running reports in Gradience Basics can be due to one of the following two causes:

Cause 1: A corrupted software installation where Crystal Reports failed to properly install, or…

Cause 2: You already have another version of Crystal Reports that conflicts with the version Gradience Basics uses.

Solution for Cause 1:

CAUTION! Do this only If you have Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0 (x86). If your version of Crystal Reports is different go to Solution for Cause 2 below.

In Windows 7 or Server 2008: Navigate to your Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0 (x86) - afterwards click here to download and run the Crystal Reports installation.

In Windows XP or Server 2003: Navigate to your Control Panel > Add Remove Programs and uninstall Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0 (x86) - afterwards click here to download and run the Crystal Reports installation.

Solution for Cause 2:

Verify that you are running a different version of Crystal Reports from Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0 (x86).

To verify this in Windows 7 or Server 2008, navigate to your Control Panel > Programs and Features and wait for the list to populate.

To verify this in In Windows XP or Server 2003, navigate to your Control Panel > Add Remove Programs and wait for the list to populate.

If you discover that you are running Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0 (x86), follow the steps in the Solution for Cause 1 above.

If you discover that you are running a different version of Crystal Reports from Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0 (x86), you must then determine whether any other software on your computer requires the particular version you have. If you do have software on your computer that requires the particular version of Crystal Reports that you have, you will not be able to uninstall it, which means you will have to install Gradience Basics on another computer where you can use Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0 (x86).

If you feel however, that you can afford to uninstall the particular version of Crystal Reports that you have without interfering with other software, then go ahead and uninstall the version of Crystal Reports that you have so that you can then install the version required by Gradience Basics. Once you have finished uninstalling the previous version of Crystal Reports, you may click here to download and run the Crystal Reports installation.
