Gradience Basics Attendance - New Balance for New Year

Establish a New Starting Balance Each Year in Gradience Basics Attendance

Regrettably, when this software was written there was no option added to clear-out the balance to start over each year.

Please notice that the amount entered originally is in a field that is labeled Allowed. It does not say Allowed for a particular year. Please see the examples below.

EXAMPLE ONE:

If you entered say 40hrs for Vacation in the "Allowed" field for Bob Smith back in the beginning of a particular year and Bob only used 32hrs. His Balance at the end of that year would be 8hrs.

If you now want him to have 40hrs again for the following year, you need to "CHANGE" the "Allowed" amount from 40hrs to 72hrs. This way, you will be "adding" 32 additional hours. When this additional 32 hours is added to the current remaining balance of 8hrs, the employee's balance will jump to 40 once again.

EXAMPLE TWO:

If you entered say 40hrs for Vacation in the "Allowed" field for Bob Smith back in the beginning of a particular year and Bob used all of it, his Balance at the end of that year would be ZERO hours.

If you now want him to have 40hrs again for following year, you need to "CHANGE" the "Allowed" amount from 40hrs to 80hrs. This way, you will be "adding" 40 additional hours. When this additional 40 hours is added to the current remaining balance of ZERO hours, the employee's balance will jump to 40 once again.

Each year, you must change the "Allowed" amount to a number that will ultimately change the balance to what it needs to be for the new year.
