HRcalendar - Send Backup to Technical Support

Backup your database and send to Technical Support.

Note: We can't always correct a database issue but we can attempt to repair.

From within HR Calendar click File > Backup. A normal Save As popup will appear but unless you have setup permissions, you will not be able to backup anywhere other than the default location of c:\Program Files\HRcalendar Software\Data Backup Or C:\Program Files (x86)\HRcalendar Software\Data Backup (Windows 7)

The backup will be assigned a date and time stamp and the extension “.bak”.

EXAMPLE: ABSDATA01-01-2013-1626.bak

When completed, a message will appear indicating Backup Complete.

Attach the backup to an e-mail:

Open an e-mail and click the Attach button on the tool bar to navigate to c:\Program Files\HRcalendar Software\Data Backup Or C:\Program Files (x86)\HRcalendar Software\Data Backup (Windows 7)

Double-click the backup you just made to attach it to the e-mail.

Note: If the file size is larger than 7MB you will need to zip the file before sending. Send the backup to support@gradiencesupport.com.

Restoring from the backup returned to you by Tech Support:

IMPORTANT! To protect your current data we recommend that you perform a back up first because when you restore, you will completely replace all current data with the data being restored.

NOTE: Backups must reside in the backup folder to be restored.

Open the e-mail from Tech Support and right-click on the returned backup.

Select Send to and navigate to c:\Program Files\HRcalendar Software\Data Backup Or C:\Program Files (x86)\HRcalendar Software\Data Backup (Windows 7)

From within HR Calendar click on File > Restore to get a pop-up window.

Select the backup you just received from Tech Support and click Open.

Close and reopen HRcalendar to view the restored data.
